The physical environment can be very beneficial – or cause significant problems – for people living with dementia, whether it’s in a person’s own home or a care home. Assistive technology, developing dementia-friendly communities, understanding risk – all these issues play an important part in supporting people living with dementia.

Staying at home for as long as possible can be very beneficial for people with dementia as they are surrounded with familiar things and are in an environment that might hold many memories and emotional attachments..
